13 Years Later and Sasha is Still Riding!

Thirteen years ago, Vladimir watched BuddyRider^® on Dragon's Den, and he knew he had to have one.

Some people questioned whether the idea would succeed, but he saw something different. He saw an opportunity to share one of his favorite activities with his best friend. As soon as he saw the presentation, he ordered the seat, and to this day, he still believes it's one of the best purchases he's ever made.

At the time, his little Bichon Frise, Sasha, was only two months old. He wasn't sure what she'd think about riding on a bicycle, but she surprised him. From the very first ride, she was completely comfortable and seemed to love every minute of it.

One of his favorite memories is taking her along Toronto's Lakeshore on the day they received their BuddyRider^®. Looking back at those photos now, Vladimir says it's hard to believe how tiny she was.

Today, Sasha is 13 years old.

She may be a senior now, but one thing hasn't changed. Every spring, when Vladimir pulls his bike out of storage and attaches the carrier, she knows exactly what's about to happen — and installing it has become one of their most cherished traditions. The moment it goes onto the bike, Sasha knows adventure is just around the corner. In fact, just recently she practically tried to jump onto the seat herself before he was even ready to go. Watching her excitement never gets old.

Seeing that enthusiasm reminded Vladimir to look up the company and see how it was doing after all these years. He was happy to discover that BuddyRider^® is not only still around but continues to grow — despite all the doubters from those early days on Dragon's Den.

Over the years, Vladimir realized that this seat gave him much more than a safe way to bring his dog along for a bike ride. It strengthened their bond in ways he never expected. They explored parks, trails, and waterfronts together. She wasn't left behind at home — she was right there with him, sharing every ride.

Whenever he thinks about this invention, he also remembers Colin and his incredibly well-trained dog, Jack, who inspired the idea and showed the world that cycling with your dog could be both safe and fun.

Looking back after 13 years, Vladimir can honestly say that BuddyRider^® has been part of some of his happiest memories with Sasha.

She's older now. So is he. But every time he touches his bike, her tail starts wagging, her excitement takes over, and for a moment they're both reminded that some adventures never lose their magic.

Stories like this remind us that this isn't just a bicycle seat for pets — it's part of a family's traditions, memories, and everyday joy.
